Each of Mercedes’ employees will receive a record bonus of 7,300 euros (₦3.6m) for a job well-done in 2022.
The extra cash will be paid to all eligible employees in April 2023 along with wages and salaries.
Mercedes-Benz has been applying a profit-sharing scheme for tariff-scale employees since 1997.

Each of Mercedes’ employees will receive a record bonus of 7,300 euros (₦3.6m) for a job well-done in 2022.
The extra cash will be paid to all eligible employees in April 2023 along with wages and salaries.
Mercedes-Benz has been applying a profit-sharing scheme for tariff-scale employees since 1997.
Last year, eligible employees received a bonus payment of 6,000 euros.
Mercedes-Benz says it will reward its employees with financial bonuses to thank them for a job well-done in 2022 despite a challenging environment with continuing semi-conductor shortages, logistics bottlenecks and regional COVID measures.
For this year, all eligible employees will receive a special lump sum bonus of up to 7,300 euros (₦3.6 Million), a figure it said is even higher than the current maximum payment cap of 6,465 euros.
Around 93,000 eligible tariff-scale employees in home country Germany will receive the bonus along with their April 2023 pay.
Commenting on the bonus, Sabine Kohleisen, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG responsible for Human Resources, and Director of Labour Relations, said :
“Together we have achieved a lot in 2022. Despite a challenging environment our Mercedes-Benz team has taken a further major step towards the successful transformation of our company.
“In recognition of this performance, we have agreed together with the General Works Council that we will pay a special bonus of 7,300 euros this year. This sum is significantly above the previous maximum amount. With the highest profit-sharing bonus in the history of the company, we would like to express our gratitude for the exceptional dedication and personal commitment of our colleagues.” Sabine Kohleisen added.

The highest payment before now was €5,700 ($6,422) that was received back in 2018 and at the time, the company’s books had 130,000 eligible tariff-scale employees.
